Course description:

 

This course is designed to introduce students to creating professional documents using MS Word with an emphasis on page formatting, paragraph formatting, and tables. 

 

Learner outcome:

 

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  • Saving documents and templates
  • Using images in a document
  • Formatting a document
  • Effective use of tabs
  • Using Auto Correct and Auto Text
  • Using Tables
  • Mail Merge

 

Expectations:

 

·         Students are requested to attend class on time and actively participate in class discussions.

·         Assignments are due at the beginning of class on the due date.

·         Late assignments are marked at 50%

·         Cellular phones and pagers must be turned off.

·         Students are expected to read the material in advance of coming to class to facilitate learning.

 

Evaluation:

Attendance and Participation 10%, Assignments 40%, Final Project 50%

A requirement of 60% in all areas is to be achieved for certificate/diploma
