Course description:

This course focuses on proper delivery of sight translation and texts in japanese to english. A variety of texts used including cultural and business topics.

Students are guided to expansion of their vocabulary and to improvement of their ability to render japanese texts into correct english usage.

• Improve accurate comprehension of English
• Expand English and Japanese vocabulary
• Improve proper selection of Japanese wording
• Learn translating techniques
• Be able to translate various subjects

Translation of a variety of businesses news, social topics, health issues and environment issues from English into Japanese.

Evaluation:

Assignments 60%, Participation 10%, Exam 30%
