Course description:

Methodology:

This course focuses on proper delivery of sight translation and texts from Japanese to english. A variety of texts are used including cultural and business topics.

Students are guided to expansion of their vocabulary and to improvement of their ability to render Japanese texts into correct English usage.

•  Improve English vocabulary
• Expand awareness of selected topics in translation
• Improve English grammar and idioms for translation purposes
• Enhance the knowledge of the translation field

Translation of a variety of business and news documents from english to Japanese and from Japanese into english.

Evaluation:

Assignments 50%; Participation 20%; Exams and Quizzes 30%
