Course description:

Methodology:

This course is a comprehensive discussion and public speaking class designed to help students develop their oratory skills, english fluency, and public speaking ability.

Using a variety of engaging topics and interactive exercises, every student in the class will have many opportunities to speak and to express his or her opinion.

There will be informal impromptu short presentations, and a longer presentation. This means that students can develop public speaking skills using many types of situations.  

This course is delivered through lectures, handouts and videos. There are a variety of student-centred activities that include participating in role-plays, taking part in speaking tasks every day, preparing and making presentations, and leading discussion topics. 

Learner outcome:

Students will be able to:

  • Build confidence in their public speaking skills
  • Design their own ideas about many different topics
  • Express coherent opinions
  • Use effective vocal communication techniques
  • Use effective visual communication techniques
  • Write a presentation outline
  • Organize and deliver a presentation
